Our Women’s Guild meet twice a month on 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 2.15pm to 3.30pm. Our purpose is to serve God, care for each other and provide an opportunity for women to gather for a time of fellowship and entertainment.
We usually have a speaker on the 2nd Thursday and a more relaxed and social time on the 4th Thursday, such as a quiz, games afternoon, or an open discussion on some topic.
We celebrate the Christian festivals, and our programme also includes a Christmas dinner and a summer cream tea. Each meeting starts with a time of devotion and ends with refreshments. The Guild is run by a committee of 6 members.
We choose a charity each year and raise the money mostly through a bring-and-buy table once a month. We also support church needs and, in the past, have purchased a defibrillator, a piano and stool and some kitchen items.
The meetings are open to anyone who wishes to join us regularly or occasionally.
