We believe that prayer is a vital part of every Christian’s life. In the Bible we are told to pray on every occasion. There are various opportunities for prayer here at Cornerstone which are shown here.
Prayer Spider
The Prayer Spider is made up of Church Members. If someone has a special need for prayer, the request can be passed along by e-mail prayerspider@cornerstonehytheurc.org.uk.
Arrow Prayer Line
This is for more confidential prayer requests which are shared with only a few people; the request can be made via e-mail: prayerspider@cornerstonehytheurc.org.uk
Home Groups
Home Groups meet twice a month on different days and times, usually in homes but some at Cornerstone. They meet to study, worship, share and pray. For more information e-mail: homegroups@cornerstonehytheurc.org.uk.
Daytime Prayers
There are other opportunities to meet for Prayer and Fellowship. On Mondays we come together at 10.00am for prayer at Cornerstone (except bank holidays). On Wednesdays we have an early morning prayer time at Cornerstone from 8-30am to pray for the church. For more details e-mail: prayer@cornerstonehytheurc.org.uk.
House of Prayer
This is an ecumenical prayer initiative. The Waterside House of Prayer (WHOP) meets at St Andrew’s Church, Dibden Purlieu. The Chapel where they meet (to the right side of the Church) opens onto a prayer garden which was completed in the summer of 2024. Meetings take place weekday mornings from 8am – 9am and also on Wednesday mornings from 11:45am – 1:00pm. Participants come from most Churches on the Waterside and anyone is welcome to come and use the small prayer garden at any time – it is accessible from outside and is alongside the front car-park.
On Sundays
Our services include prayers of intercession and at the close of Worship members of our Prayer Ministry Team (wearing badges) are available to pray with you then, or if preferred arranged at a more suitable time. For more details e-mail: prayer@cornerstonehytheurc.org.uk.
“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord’s people”
