In order to help us live an active lifestyle as we age, we are running a weekly exercise group at Cornerstone Hythe URC aimed at improving strength, balance and flexibility. This a friendly group open to all in our community. Our instructor is well qualified in delivering exercise programs for older adults and coffee is available after each session. Pre-booking is not required and there is no charge, but attendees are invited to make a suggested donation of £2.

If we are currently active, it is easy to think that loss of strength and loss of balance will not happen to us – but they almost certainly will,. They are an inevitable consequence of ageing, since each year after age 30 we lose muscle mass and strength. However, the good news is that exercise programmes have been shown to be highly effective in older adults maintaining strength and flexibility and reducing the risk of falls and disability.

All are welcome to come along and improve their ability to live an active lifestyle in older age. Classes are held every week in the hall at Cornerstone Hythe URC on Thursday, from 10 am to 11 am.
